Teams and riders

The 2024 Ford RideLondon Classique welcomed the strongest and most competitive field of elite teams in its history.

Headlined by the world’s leading team in 2023, Team SD Worx-Protime, the 2024 field included four of the top five teams from the 2023 end-of-season rankings with Lidl-Trek, Canyon//SRAM and UAE Team ADQ.

In 2024, Team SD Worx-Protime broke the dominance of Team dsm-firmenich PostNL (formerly Team DSM), who had won every edition of the Classique since it became a stage race in 2022. Lorena Wiebes, victory with Team SD Worx-Protime in 2024, had previously won with Team DSM in 2022, with Charlotte Kool repeating the feat in 2023.

In total, 11 UCI Women’s WorldTour teams and nine UCI Continental teams competed in the 2024 Ford RideLondon Classique, including four teams from Great Britain and Ireland: Lifeplus-Wahoo, DAS-Hutchinson-Brother UK, Doltcini O’Shea and Torelli.

The riders

The 2024 edition of the Ford RideLondon Classique featured the world’s best riders. Sprint sensation Lorena Wiebes (Team SD Worx-Protime) made it back-to-back wins in the Individual Classification following her triumph in 2022, having been well supported by teammate and World Champion Lotte Kopecky, who was racing in the UK for the first time since she won the World Championship title in Glasgow last year. Other standout names who raced in 2024 were 2023 champion, former world champion Lizzie Deignan (Lidl-Trek), and a field of sprint power including Letizia Paternoster (Liv AlUla Jaco), Clara Copponi (Lidl-Trek) and Margot Vanpachtenbeke (Volkerwessels Women’s Pro Cycling Team) Lorena Wiebes and Charlotte Kool complete those names already announced. Wiebes is a two-time champion at the Classique, having won in 2019 (when the Classique was a one-day race) and in 2022, when she won all three stages to take the overall victory.
